► How to join a Society

Joining societies at Surrey is easy, and you can do it all year round.

Your biggest opportunity to meet and join many of our societies is at Freshers' Fayre in September, or Re-Freshers' Fayre in January. If you miss these events, then you can always join at a society meeting or in the Students' Union Activities Office. 

Most societies have a joining fee, which goes straight to helping your society put on their activities and events throughout the year for their members. When you join a society, you will need to pay the joining fee and give the society your contact details. You will get a receipt for every society you join, which you should keep as your proof of membership.

As a society member you will get a Societies Card from the Students' Union which you can use to get great discounts and benefits locally! After your membership has been processed, you will receive an email from the Students' Union once we have had your card printed and it is here ready for you to collect.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO JOINING A SOCIETY 

•  Pay  your membership fee to the society / in the Students' Union Activities Office   
• Get your membership receipt, and keep in a safe place
• Collect your Societies Card from the Students' Union Activities Office, when you get an email to say it has arrived
• Get involved with your society and have lots of fun!
