Amina Nagwamma Website 2019.pngHi everyone! My name is Sarah, and I am your new VP Support.

I am French but I lived in Singapore before coming to university. I have just completed my Bachelor of Science in Criminology here at the University of Surrey. A couple of things I am very keen on working on this year is improving the sexual health provisions on campus as well as student safety during the night, but also to improve the current services available for students.

The year 2019-2020 will see the launch of Welfare Watch and Student Minds, which I am currently working on. Feel free to email me with any queries or ideas, or come to my office!

My Manifesto

 Sexual Health

Increasing awareness and having an easier access to sexual health supplies, such as a sexual health nurse on campus as well as a free morning after pill.

Student Safety at Night

  • Lobby against the Council to turn the street lights back on during the night

  • Welfare Watch: volunteers helping drunk and distressed students during Rubix nights out to ensure a safe environment to sober up or have a breather

Approachable Union

For 2 hours every week, I will encourage Sabbatical and part-time Officers to have drop in sessions with students to gather feedback on support services and student concerns, for the Support Zone to be aware of ongoing issues, react appropriately and constantly improve our service.
